Websites Built for Every Kind of Small Business

Contractors, clinics, salons, studios, firms and shops. The industry changes what the site has to say; it changes very little about what the site has to do.

A dental practice and a roofing company are not selling the same thing, but both are being checked by somebody who found them a minute ago and is deciding whether to make contact. Both need to state clearly what they do, where they do it and who they do it for, and both need that to work on a phone held one-handed.

What differs is the structure underneath. A restaurant needs a menu and hours where a law firm needs practice areas and a way to describe a first consultation. That part is not a template setting, and it is the part we work out with you before anything is designed.

$1,497 total

One project price for the standard website. $500 to start, $997 after you approve the finished site and before it is published.

Up to 7 pages

Designed around your services rather than filled into a fixed layout. Copy drafted from your briefing and revised with you.

First preview in 5 business days

Counted from the initial payment being confirmed and your briefing and materials being approved for production.

Every industry below gets the same product and the same price. What changes is the structure and the words, which is where the work actually is.

Professional Websites Built for Small Businesses

A small business website has one job: make it easy for someone who already found you to understand what you do and get in touch.

Most small businesses do not need a complex site. They need a credible one. Somebody has been referred to you, or seen your van, or found you in a map result, and they are checking whether you look like a real business before they call. That check takes about thirty seconds and it decides a lot.

What loses it is usually not design. It is a site that does not say clearly what you do, does not work properly on a phone, or has no obvious way to reach you. We build to fix those first, then make it look like a company worth hiring.

  • Clear enough that a stranger understands your business in one screen
  • Readable on a phone, which is where most of your visitors are
  • A contact form that reaches your inbox, and a phone number that dials
  • Fast to load, without a page builder's worth of scripts behind it
  • Structured so search engines can read it properly
  • Yours: your domain, your hosting, no ongoing fee to us

What Is Included in Your Website

Up to seven custom pages and everything the site needs to be complete on the day it launches.

The page count is a real limit, not a starting point that gets negotiated upward. Seven pages covers what most small businesses actually need: a home page, two or three service pages, an about page, and a contact page, with room for one or two more where the business calls for it.

  • Up to 7 custom pages, designed around your business rather than a stock layout
  • Copywriting drafted from your briefing, then revised with you
  • Responsive layouts for phone, tablet and desktop
  • A contact form that delivers to your email
  • Technical SEO fundamentals: page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, sitemap
  • Google Analytics configured when you provide or create the account
  • 3 consolidated rounds of revisions
  • 30 days of support after delivery

Not included: domain registration, hosting, logo design, a Google Business Profile, ongoing SEO and e-commerce. Those are covered on the pricing page.

Website Design and Development, From Start to Launch

Design and build are one engagement here. The same people who lay it out are the ones who make it work and put it live.

The site is built as static pages rather than on a heavy content platform. That is a deliberate choice: it loads quickly, there is very little that can break, and there is no plugin stack to keep patched. It also means the site runs on ordinary hosting rather than requiring anything specific.

When it is approved, we deploy it to your hosting account. Not ours. You keep the credentials, the domain stays registered in your name, and if you ever want to hand the site to somebody else there is nothing to release and no notice period.

Designed for the business

Layout, typography and imagery chosen for what you do, from an approved set of design directions rather than a template marketplace.

Built to load fast

Static pages, optimised images and no unnecessary JavaScript. Performance is part of the build, not an add-on afterwards.

Deployed to your hosting

The finished site goes onto an account you own and control, on a domain registered in your name.

Design directions

Design Directions, Not Templates

Sixteen concepts from the studio, all built from the same five directions. A direction is a starting point with a point of view about type, colour, density and pace. Your site is designed inside one of them and ends up looking like your business, not like the last site we built.

Industries We Build Websites For

Small and mid-sized service businesses across the United States, in a wide range of industries.

The problem is usually the same regardless of the sector. The work is good, the reputation is good, and the website does not reflect either. What changes between industries is what a visitor needs to see before they trust you, and that is what the briefing works out.

  • Restaurants, salons, barbershops and spas
  • Dental, medical and veterinary practices
  • Law firms, accounting firms and professional services
  • Real estate and insurance offices
  • Fitness studios and wellness businesses
  • Auto repair, auto sales and cleaning services
  • Retail and local specialty stores

Contractors and home service businesses are a large enough part of our work to have their own section of the site, with pages for each trade. If that is your business, start there instead.

How Our Web Design Process Works

Four stages, and you know at each point what is happening and what we need from you.

The part that most often sets the timeline is not the design. It is how quickly the briefing and materials come back, and how quickly each round of revisions is reviewed. We can build fast. We cannot review on your behalf.

  • Briefing: what you do, who you serve, what the site has to achieve, and the material you already have
  • First preview: a complete draft of the site within 5 business days of the initial payment and an approved briefing
  • Revisions: 3 consolidated rounds, where you review the whole site and send your notes together
  • Launch: final approval, the remaining balance, then deployment to your hosting

What a Small Business Website Costs

With us, $1,497 in total: $500 to start the project and $997 after you approve the final version, before it is published.

That is the whole price for the standard project. There is no monthly fee to us for the website, no licence, and no subscription that keeps it online. Domain and hosting are bought separately in your name and typically cost a modest amount per year, paid to the provider rather than to us.

Work outside the standard scope, such as a site substantially larger than seven pages or a custom build, is quoted separately.

What falls outside the standard project, and the two add-ons that are priced, are set out in the next three sections.

Ready to start?

The $500 initial payment puts your project into production and starts the five business day clock once your briefing is approved.

What Is Not Included

Stated plainly, because finding out later is the thing that ruins a project.

None of the items below are hidden upsells. Some are things you buy directly from someone else, some are services we do not offer, and some are simply outside what a seven-page institutional website is.

  • Domain registration. You buy it and it stays in your name.
  • Hosting. You buy it, you own the account, and we deploy to it.
  • Logo design. If you do not have a logo, the business name can be set typographically.
  • Google Business Profile setup and management.
  • Ongoing SEO work. Technical fundamentals are built in; monthly SEO is a separate service.
  • Advertising management.
  • E-commerce, online payments, booking systems and customer logins.
  • Photography and video production.
  • Content updates after the 30 day support period.

Optional Add-Ons

Two things sit outside the standard project but are priced and available.

An additional language, $297

The $1,497 project includes one language. A second language version of the same site is $297, and it is a translation of the site we built rather than a second site.

Custom projects, from $3,500

Work that does not fit the standard product: substantially more than seven pages, custom functionality, integrations or anything requiring a system behind it. Scoped and quoted on its own.

There is no price list for SEO or for advertising here, because those are scoped per client. If you want either, say so in the form below and we will talk about what is involved.

Domain, Hosting and What You Pay After Launch

After launch you pay your domain registrar and your hosting provider. You do not pay us anything.

The domain is registered in your name and the hosting account is yours. Both are ordinary annual or monthly costs paid directly to those providers, and we do not mark them up, resell them or take a commission on them. We can recommend options, and you are free to ignore the recommendation.

This matters more than it sounds. A website you rent stops being yours the month you stop paying. This one does not. If you decide to work with someone else, there is no account to transfer out of, no export to request and no notice to give: the site is already sitting on infrastructure you control.

Your website. Your domain. Your hosting. No monthly fees to us. No lock-in.

Payment Terms and Project Timeline

The sequence, in order, with what triggers each step.

  1. Briefing and materials

You complete the briefing and send the materials we need: services, photographs, anything that has to appear.

  2. Initial payment, $500

You pay to start, and we review the briefing for anything missing before production begins.

  3. First preview

Once the briefing is approved for production, the first preview of the site arrives within 5 business days.

  4. Revisions

You review the whole site and send consolidated notes. Up to 3 rounds are included.

  5. Approval

You approve the final version. Nothing is published before this point.

  6. Balance, $997

Paid after approval and before publication. That is the last payment that comes to us.

  7. Publication

We deploy the site to your hosting, on your domain, and it goes live.

  8. Support

30 days of support run from delivery.

Extra revision rounds beyond the three included are available on request and quoted at the time. There is no fixed price for them, because how much work they represent varies.

That is the whole process.

If it sounds like the right fit, the first step is the briefing. If you would rather ask something first, the form is below.

Small Business Web Design FAQs

How long does a small business website take?

You get a first preview within five business days of the initial payment being confirmed and your briefing and materials being approved for production.

Total time to launch depends on the revision rounds, which is mostly your review time. Projects where the briefing arrives complete and notes come back promptly move considerably faster than ones where they do not.

What if I need more than seven pages?

Then the standard project is not the right fit, and we will say so before you pay anything.

Larger sites are handled as custom projects, scoped and quoted on their own. Custom work typically starts around $3,500 depending on what is involved.

Do I have to keep paying you every month?

No. There is no mandatory monthly fee to Mand Digital for the website.

You will pay your domain registrar and your hosting provider on their own schedule, because those accounts are yours. Neither of those payments comes to us.

Who writes the content?

We do, from the briefing you complete.

You are not handed an empty template and asked to fill it. We draft the copy from what you tell us about your business, your services and your customers, and you refine it across the revision rounds.

Can I edit the site myself afterwards?

You own the files and the hosting account, so nothing stops you or anyone you hire from changing it.

The standard build is not a drag-and-drop editor. If editing content yourself day to day is a requirement, tell us in the briefing so we can talk about whether this is the right product for you.

Do you do e-commerce?

No. The standard project is an institutional, lead-generation website, not an online store.

If you need to sell products online, this is not the right fit, and we would rather tell you now than halfway through.

What about SEO and advertising?

Technical SEO fundamentals are part of every build. Ongoing SEO work and advertising are separate services, quoted on their own.

This page is about the website. If you want to talk about the other two, the contact form below reaches the same inbox.

Is $1,497 really the total?

Yes, for the standard project. $500 plus $997 and nothing else comes to us.

You will pay a domain registrar and a hosting provider separately, and those are the only other costs involved in having the site online.

Why is it split into two payments?

So neither side is carrying all the risk.

You put in enough to get the work started. We deliver a complete site and take you through the revisions before the balance is due, and you approve the finished version before you pay it.

What happens if I am not happy with the first preview?

That is what the revision rounds are for, and the first preview is expected to change.

You have three consolidated rounds. If we are heading in the wrong direction, the earlier you say so the better, because the first round is where direction is cheapest to change.

Do you offer a refund?

No. We do not offer a money-back guarantee and we would rather say so plainly than bury it.

The two-stage structure is the protection: you see the complete site and approve it before the second payment. If something is not working, tell us during the revision rounds.

Is there a payment plan?

The two-stage structure is the payment structure. We do not run instalment plans beyond it.

If timing is the issue, the practical answer is usually to start when the second payment will be comfortable, since it is not due until you approve the finished site.

How much do domain and hosting cost?

They are paid to the providers you choose, and we do not set or mark up their prices.

We can point you at options that work well for a site like this. Whatever you pick, both accounts stay in your name.
